I'm so happy I could cry

Brode has had a really great soccer season this fall. He is on a great team with a great coach. There have been times that I have questioned his athletic ability or maybe just his motivation, but this season we are really seeing it come out in him. He has been doing great to help the team and had some nice assists throughout the season but he had yet to score a goal until this last game. We were so excited and everone cheered for him. I could just see the pride in his face and he was beaming the whole rest of the game. I could see that he was so motivated now to feel that sense of accomplishment again and he played super hard the rest of the game.

The next Monday after the game, during a family home evening lesson on Joy, Brode came up to me and quietly said, " Mom, you know how in church sometimes people cry because they are really happy?" "Yes" I say. " Well I kind of thought I was gonna cry when I scored my first goal at soccer. Cause I was sooo happy."

We got a good laugh out of that one.

GOOOOOAAAAALLLLL!

I am

I am a taekwondo expert, a soccer star, a skateboarder extraordinaire, a good sport, a really great friend, an EXCELLENT reader, a daydreamer, a thinker, a little bit stubborn (or a lot), a musician, a singer, and a really nice guy.

She is who she is

This picture is the most perfect picture of who Peyton is. A little girly, a little sporty, very mishchevous, and always entertaining. Peyton is such an individual and has an extremely wonderful strong will. Isn't it funny that most of the traits that we view as troublesome in children are often the same exact traits that we admire in adults. She dosen't let anyone push her around. She is passionate about almost everything. If I can help her learn about and value herself for who she is, she is headed for amazing things!
