Halloween fun

We went to cornbellys for Halloween and had a great time doing all kinds of great activities. Cornbellys is a pumpkin festival at thanksgiving point with a corn maze and fun fall activities. The kids had a blast running around and trying everything. After a few hours there Teague got stung by a bee! He was so brave and only cried for a minute even though his poor little ear was all puffed up and red. We and ate caramel popcorn and had a great time. We weren't quite finished playing when it started to rain and we ended up running to our car in a rain and wind storm. When we got home we carved pumpkins. Brode and Peyton carved their own this year for the first time. Then we got all ready to go Trick or Treating. Charlie drove the kids around in the car since it was still raining. Now I need a nap!

Brode loves to rock climb

The Haunted Creature! YOu get to go inside and find your way through his belly!
The corn pit!

The small pumpkin was carved entirely by the kids
Peyton the little butterfly
Indiana Jones cracking his whip

Teague couldn't decide which super hero to be so he was spiderman and batman this year!

Reflections

I remember the reflections contest here in Utah schools from my childhood. I don't think I ever entered but when Peyton expressed interest in making a painting we decided we better get to work. Brode then decided he wanted to make a 3D sculpture. Here are the results. The Theme was "together we can". Peyton was insistent that she wanted to paint a rose. I could not figure out how to make that go with the theme so we went with "Together we can Stop and Smell the Roses" Her statement said that we should take the time to enjoy life with the people we love. Brode wanted to do something about taking care of the earth. His topic became "Together We Can Protect our Earth". They had a great time doing these projects and I am proud of their hard work.

I apologize for this shot but I couldn't resist putting this up here. Teague and Peyton did some art work the other day!

This is Teague coated in sand from head to toe.
Brode actually has blue hair in this picture. It is hard to tell cause of the angle.

After the school carnival with colored hair and painted faces.

First Day at school

Peyton and Brode on their first day of school. Peyton started Kindergarten this year and Brode is in third grade. They are both getting so big. Peyton loves school so much and is so excited about all her new experiences. Brode has a little less optimistic attitude about the whole thing but I know underneath he is having a good time.
